I trusted Mike. I know I don't know all the details behind the sudden change, but I find it hard to trust the business now (and am skeptical about the ethics of ownership who would let an amazing manager like Mike go).
I have been coming here for over ten years and have yet to have a bad experience. My car and my wife's current vehicle, plus previous family cars, have always been well serviced, advice offered that has saved us money each year, and friendly staff. The very affordable oil change is what first brought us in, the service keeps us coming back.
Great service, I trust this place!
I'm conflicted about Bittersweet Auto. I live in the neighborhood and have taken a fleet of vehicles there for all manner of service. Recently, however, their long time service manager, left unexpectedly after working there for years (and working toward ownership in my understanding). Mike was a HUGE part of why I went there, and I simply don't have confidence in the new manager.
Relatively good shop to go to. People complain about Mike leaving, but I’ve had good experiences with Dale (who is particularly helpful, especially when he specifically does the work on the vehicle and not only shows me what he’s doing, but talks me through how to do some things). I’ve had a few mishaps, though, specifically with some of the mechanics over the last year. For example, I had a loose heat shield squeaking and was told it was my idler pulley needing replaced. $120 or so later I found out that it was not the idler pulley, had to take my suv back, and discovered it was a heat shield while helping them source the noise which they tied back up and fixed in seconds (at least I have a new pulley, I guess). I also had my control arms replaced, only to be told a couple of months later that they needed replaced AGAIN as the bolts were somehow already seized and they had to torch them out. Dale worked with me to get the repair price down, thankfully, but it did raise some serious questions that I confronted him with after getting rather upset over another bill for the same work that had already cost me four digits not even a season prior. Other than that, I’ve been coming to Bittersweet since around 2014 and I see no reason to stop yet, unless if these... dare I call them mistakes... start becoming more common, which they unfortunately have been. I don’t necessarily blame management and I know that mechanics are all human and can make mistakes, but when I have to pay repair bills and unnecessary ones at that, I personally start having some legitimate concerns over whether the shop is after my continued business or just my money.
Do not go there, this place quoted me a price over 900$ for a timing belt change on a Toyota Avalon, the Jordan Toyota dealership, yes, a dealership did the job for $310. They will take advantage of you if you let them
